Final Free Floating Compilation Call For Submissions
At the other end of conception is reflection…
To bring this magnificent musical project to what I feel is a natural conclusion, Free Floating will release its final collection on July 14, 2016, exactly five years from the release of Conception. The collection will be entitled ‘Reflection’ and will also represent a compilation of various artists’ explorations of softly drifting ambient music.
I hope to include many artists who have released music through the label as well as, perhaps, new voices to keep it fresh even as we go gently into that good night…
How To Participate
All music should conform to the inspiration and mission of Free Floating Music:
Simplicity and repose are the qualities that measure the true value of any work of art.
–Frank Lloyd Wright
We should listen to the silence with the same attention that we give to the sounds.
Free Floating Music exists to release and promote serene, peaceful ambient music–music that grows out of and flows through the silence around it, sculpting spaces for reflection, repose and rejuvenation.
To that end, music will be considered for the compilation which
- emphasizes tranquility and meditative harmony,
- is primarily beatless,
- is generally between 6 and 10 minutes in length,
- has not been previously shared, published, or released,
- is free to be released under an Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs
CC BY-NC-ND Creative Commons license.
Please send a link to a file that may be downloaded, preferably in a high quality file format.
Submissions must be received by Thursday, June 30th.
